What We Do
Valar Capital is a proprietary trading firm which uses quantitative research methods to develop algorithms by computationally analysing large data sets to reveal patterns and trends.
We develop various trading strategies for Indian equity market to deliver well defined risk – return profiles to our investors. These strategies/algorithms are developed for cash market as well as derivative market segments and range from hedged neutral to directionally biased in nature.
All our trades are executed in an automated manner through an in house developed software, and there is absolutely no manual intervention. This leads to speedy execution, avoids wrong decisions due to emotional biases in manual trading and gives consistent performance.
Our vision is to enable retail and institutional traders and investors access the unmatched benefits of Algorithmic trading and consistently grow their wealth in the most seamless and reliable way.

- Collect and collate all possible data required to test the hypothesis

- Develop a backtesting code to simulate the actual market conditions and test the hypothesis
- Analyze the results and ascertain whether these are in line with the hypothesis in terms of profitability and consistency
- Tweak and fine tune the hypothesis parameters to match the desired risk- return profile

- Develop a live trading code to test the hypothesis in actual live markets
- If the live testing results match the simulated testing results, the algorithm is ready to deploy
- Develop the position sizing model for trading the developed algorithm
- Deploy the model on our automatic trading infrastructure
Who We Are
Uday Bansal
Uday is a serial entrepreneur and has founded 3 startups before Valar Capital – an AI based wealth management company, a gamified platform for trading and a food company. Before that he worked with KPMG Strategy Group in London advising investment banks and private equity funds. He studied engineering at Panjab University and management at London Business School. Uday is a self taught programmer and an avid poker player.
Sajal Garg
Sajal has done his B. Tech. from IIT Roorkee and a Masters in Management from London Business School. After graduating he founded a foodtech start up which he exited in 2012. Thereafter, he joined his family business into construction and delivered several successful projects within a period of 6 years. Finally, in 2018 he decided to pursue his passion in trading in equity markets, he co founded Valar Capital.
